January

1/23/23 - 1/28/23 - Utah Tech Week . Utah Tech Week is a week-long grassroots community celebration of Utah’s tech and startup scene. Startups, VCs, and community orgs will put together dozens of events serving all stages and sectors of Utah’s tech community. The only events that Utah Tech Week will be organizing is an opening and closing party on November 8th and November 12th. In between, will be dozens of community driven events ranging from breakfasts, lunches, happy hours, dinners, educational panels and workshops on all different verticals and skill sets within tech and startups, yoga sessions, Top Golf, mountain biking, hiking, and whatever creative activity you can think of!

December 

12/13/22- Women Tech Council Holiday Social - 4pm-5:30pm. Join the WTC for one last event for the year.  In partnership with Adobe and Zions Bank, this isn’t just one more holiday event. It’s a chance to meet one more person, help one more person expand their network, discover one more career opportunity, and be inspired about what’s possible in 2023. 12/7/22 - WE LIFT: How To Get On The First Page Of Google - 12pm. Learn Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies and free tools to help your customers find your business in a Google search with Heather Bowers. 12/1/22 - Tacos Together Toy Drive and Ugly Sweater Contest - 11am-2pm. Tacos Together is putting on a toy drive throughout the month of November. You can drop off toys at any Dirty Dough or JobNimbus location you can also donate here. On December 1, the toy drive will end with a party at Automotive Addiction. 11/30/22 - Seed for Startups: ZinnStarter Final Pitch - 4pm-7pm. Hand-selected UVU student businesses will present a 5-minute pitch with a funding request of up to $2,500, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A from a judging panel made up of UVU Wolverine Fund students. 11/29/22 - Utahns Invited to Attend Prison Demolition - 10am. A public viewing is scheduled for the start of demolition for the old state prison facilities. Crews are scheduled to take down a decades-old prison guard tower, signaling a new chapter in redeveloping the site into Utah’s Innovation Community. Location: 14425 Bitterbrush Ln., Draper, UT 84020 or watch the live stream on The Point YouTube Channel here

11/17/22 - Utah Business Economic Outlook Summit - 8:30am - 4pm. The second-annual Utah Business Economic Summit will include discussions from 30+ speakers about growth, investment, the next generation of startups, inclusivity, etc. Over 700 attendees are expected to attend this in-person event. 11/15/22 - Majoring in the Minorities - SLCC - 10am-2pm. This tech conference, put on by Women in CyberSecurity Utah and Mom's Who Code, will feature speakers focused on inclusion in tech with workshops in software development, cybersecurity, and more. 11/15/22 - W Collective: Web3 is so Meta - 11am-1pm. A discussion of the basic fundamentals of Web3 and all the key aspects of it; cryptocurrency, NFTs, blockchain technology, etc., along with why more women need to get involved in the space, both personally and professionally. 11/14/22 - The Salt Lake Chamber Women & Business Conference/ATHENA Awards Luncheon - 8am - 3:30pm. This event is the primary fundraiser for the Women's Business Center of Utah and recognizes the accomplishments of those helping make a difference here in our local community. This year's conference theme is Explore. Engage. Empower. During the luncheon, the Salt Lake Chamber will present the ATHENA International Award to an active member who demonstrates creativity and initiative in business, provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential. 11/11/22 - Give Blockchain and Free a Girl Fundraiser and Crypto Event - 5pm - 10pm. This event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization, Free a Girl, that focuses on the rescue, aftercare, and therapy for girls saved from human trafficking. The event is hosted by Give Blockchain, a startup dedicated to helping nonprofits fundraise on their platform using the power of blockchain. 11/4/22 - WeAngels Launch Party - 4pm-6pm. Managed by VentureCapital.Org, WeAngels will be Utah’s first Angel Investment group designed specifically for women. 11/3/22 - The Future of Art, Technology and Place - 10:30am  Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall will join other creative leaders—Jesse Walker, María del Mar González-González, and Bahaa Chmait—in a panel discussion about the future of art, technology, and place in Salt Lake City. Centering values of innovation, creativity, and celebration, panelists will explore current and future shifts impacting the arts and culture industry’s ability to thrive. 10/28/22 - Business Diversity Summit - The Salt Lake Chamber and the State of Utah are co-hosting Utah's Business Diversity Summit, part of the One Utah Summit Series. The Summit will feature Keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and agenda topics targeted towards businesses with well-developed Diversity and Inclusion programs, as well as those businesses who want to engage on this critical topic. 10/21/22 - Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, University of Utah - Registration is open for the 2022-23 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge. All Utah college students from participating colleges and universities are welcome to participate in this statewide business-model competition. Teams are competing for $60,000 this year. The registration deadline is Jan. 17, 2023. Online information sessions will take place on Nov. 15, 2022, 4:30-5:30 p.m.; Nov. 29, 2022, 4:30-5:30 p.m.; Dec. 6, 2022, 4:30-5:30 p.m.; and Jan. 10, 2023, 4:30-5:30 p.m. The top 20 teams will be announced on Feb. 1, 2023 and will advance to compete in the remaining phases of the competition, which include creating a two-minute video, public voting, judging, and a final event on Feb. 25, 2023.
